My passion is helping mothers and babies by educating and assisting them with their breastfeeding experience. Being a mother of two wonderful children (now adults), I’ve experienced the wonders, joys, stresses and challenges of motherhood and have spent a majority of my life since then helping new moms succeed at starting their families and making sure their new babies are healthy, happy and thriving.
A bit about me: I am a native New Mexican and have lived in the Land of Enchantment my entire life. I attended high school in Albuquerque and then graduated from New Mexico Tech in 1986 with Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After the birth of our two children I attended nursing school and graduated from the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (now called CNM) in December 1992 with an associate’s degree in Nursing. I have been a Registered Nurse for 26+ years with a majority of my nursing experience in caring for mothers and newborns at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. In 2006, I expanded my education in mother-baby care by becoming an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and have been practicing this care through Presbyterian and in private practice ever since.
I currently reside in the East Mountain area with my husband of 34 years where we keep our collection of horses, horse-sized dogs, and chickens. I’m a horse fanatic and outdoor enthusiast, enjoying the wonderful New Mexican environment.
I look forward to helping you out with your newborn breastfeeding questions and concerns. You can do this!
