Julia Dees

My passion for birth and postpartum work began as early as high school when I presented at a national speech competition about the importance of holistic and evidence-based birth and postpartum care. I have spent most of my life working in and around childcare and have a special passion for teaching parent-tot swim classes. After cherishing my work with children and families for years, I completed my postpartum doula training in July 2024 with DONA International. I also became a DONA-certified birth doula in March 2025 and bring my experience and knowledge of the emotional and physical process of birth with me to my postpartum work.

I strive to provide care for the whole family so you can grow and bond together during this transformative period. I believe in the importance of holistic care, which means I’m here to make sure you get a good night's sleep (or at least a nap) and a filling meal, but also to connect you with evidence-based information and qualified providers for any medical concerns. In the modern era, we sometimes struggle to find our village. First and foremost, I’m here to help you build that support system and to be an extra set of hands to hold, eyes to watch over, or ears to listen – whatever it is you need.

In my free time, I love to get outside to the mountains or rivers to do some rock climbing or paddleboarding and am slowly visiting as many National Parks as possible. I am also an avid crafter and enjoy crocheting baby outfits and other projects for my clients. You’ll never find me without a good book to read, and I appreciate the opportunity to see the world from a whole new perspective.

I am excited to get to know your family and would be honored to support you through such a vulnerable and special time in your life.
