I have lived in Albuquerque for over 40 years (minus a few in Minnesota) and absolutely love the birthing community in New Mexico. I was in my 30’s when I gave birth and had two very different birthing experiences. What they had in common was informed choice-making, which is my guiding principle. Bringing a new person into the world is not something that happens TO us, it’s something that is an active choice on our part and we should be empowered to direct it by making our own informed decisions.

I supported my 19-year-old daughter during her labor and delivery of my first grand baby in October 2024 and was deeply proud of the way she researched her options and made her own choices, even when things got challenging. I’m so excited to support other birthing parents to have the same confidence in themselves and their bodies regardless of age or background. Believe in your power!
