My journey to Doula life was equally beautiful as it was unexpected. I’m fascinated with babies and pregnancy. I am sparked in awe of the authenticity of giving birth and how it connects us to the entirety of life. I was two when I lost my mom. This profound loss created space for other perspectives in my life. I grew up very close to my grandmother, who had five amazing birth stories that she often shared with me. I have two aunts that influenced my knowledge in the possibilities of childbirth and general empowerment of women during their sacred time of pregnancy and birth. Their lessons were present with me as I found connection with my own mother and womanhood in learning more about childbirth and just how fragile, important, and magnificent life can truly be.

I lived in Albuquerque all of my life. New Mexico will always be my most sacred space. I am proud to live in a place that provides an abundance of childbirth resources. I have taken up several healing avenues in my pursuit of empowerment and evolution. I am a certified Somatic Healer which focuses on evaluating how emotions and unresolved trauma may present in the body. Somatic Healing uses mindfulness, self-compassion, relaxation techniques, and breathing to help us understand the depths of our emotions and human experience. I am also certified in yoga and prenatal yoga techniques. Both of these certifications are very helpful in childbirth as each help in aligning the body with the mind and moving forward in vulnerable spaces.

Being a birth doula is meeting someone where they are at and validating the space they are in as that space is exposed to outside viewpoints and perspectives. There are lots of things that are out of our control in this life. And as we face the unknowns, empowerment is a very valuable ally. My hope is to provide the best of my abilities to you because I believe you deserve for your voice for your birth to be in your own hands.

People deserve to be empowered. Empowerment is felling emotionally supported to achieve goals. Empowerment helps in overcoming fears and the walls we build around ourselves. It creates purpose, validation, appreciation, reassurance, independence, and support. All of these attributes are found within ourselves and they are found when given the most meaningful tools.

Empowerment is my biggest goal in my path of birth work. I want every family to feel empowered to bring their baby into the world. Contributing to any birth team is both an honor and a privilege to support people and families in the process of evolution and welcoming new little lights on to the earth.

Childbirth is one of the biggest life changing experiences that anyone can go through. Holding space for knowledge and informed consent is where empowerment can take root. I hold high regard for everyone, in whatever space that they find themselves in—in whatever capacity they want to bring a baby into the world.
